As we welcome June and the start of summer, I am filled with gratitude for the compassion, courage, and commitment that surround this work every day. This season often brings a sense of movement, energy, and renewal—and it also gives us an opportunity to reflect on the strength of our community and the shared values that guide us. This month calls us to honor Pride Month and celebrate the resilience and leadership of LGBTQ+ communities, while also commemorating Juneteenth—a powerful reminder that freedom, safety, and justice must be protected and extended to all.

At Center for Domestic Peace, these values are at the heart of everything we do. Each day, we witness the strength of survivors and the power of community to create healing, hope, and lasting change. We also see how meaningful safety is built—not only through crisis response, but through steady partnership, advocacy, housing support, counseling, prevention education, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to live free from violence and fear….
