May 8th’s π°π πͺππππππππππ ππ π΄ππππππ luncheon at Peacock Gap brought together more than 350 guests and raised over $194,000 to support life-changing programs and services for survivors of domestic violence.
The afternoon was filled with powerful moments β from inspiring performances by Roxana Damas and honoring 25 years of advocacy by Voces de Cambio, to a moving keynote from author Reyna Grande. Drawing from her essay collection Migrant Heart, Reyna shared a deeply personal reflection on mother wounds, intergenerational trauma, and the courageous work of breaking harmful cycles. Her words reminded us that healing is possible and that storytelling can be a path toward transformation.
βThe moments when I let my anger get the better of me still haunt me to this day. My journey to free myself and my children from the intergenerational cycle of abuse was difficult, but I finally did it.β β πππ²π§π ππ«ππ§ππ
