We are excited to introduce a new format for our annual fundraiser, In Celebration of Mothers, and our featured speaker to keynote the event.

In a year like no other, we will present an event like no other: a virtual celebration on Thursday, May 6, 5:30-7:00 PM.

Keynote: Valarie Kaur: Civil rights activist, lawyer, award-winning filmmaker, educator, author, & Sikh American voice.

With the pandemic still underway, we have decided to present our annual fundraiser virtually! We will produce an inspiring, festive, and meaningful event online, honoring the mothers who give us life and honoring all who give life to hope, equality, love, justice, and peace. We will celebrate these ideals and raises much-needed funds to support C4DP’s life-giving work.

Our Keynote Speaker: VALARIE KAUR, is a seasoned civil rights activist and celebrated prophetic voice “at the forefront of progressive change” (Center for American Progress).

Valarie leads the Revolutionary Love Project to reclaim love as a force for justice in America. With degrees from Stanford University, Harvard Divinity School, and Yale Law School, and as a lawyer, filmmaker, and innovator, she has won policy change on multiple fronts – hate crimes, racial profiling, immigration detention, solitary confinement, Internet freedom, and more.

Valarie’s book, SEE NO STRANGER: A Memoir & Manifesto of Revolutionary Love, released in 2020, is a practical guide to changing the world, reclaiming love as an active, public, and revolutionary force. In her urgent manifesto and dramatic memoir of awakening, she takes readers through her own riveting journey and declares that revolutionary love is the call of our time — a radical and joyful practice to heal ourselves and transform the world around us.

“We are birthing a future where love is a force for justice.

Her TED talk, 3 Lessons of Revolutionary Love in a Time of Rage, has been viewed over 3 million times.

Plan to join us virtually for this very important fundraiser as she shares her personal journey as a mother, and her role in mothering a movement to use the power of love to make change.

Everyone is welcome!
