Statement from Center for Domestic Peace about Mill Valley Tragedy

We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of life in Marin County. We extend our deepest condolences to the surviving family members, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and all those grieving in the wake of this devastating tragedy.

While the investigation is ongoing, news reports indicate that a husband killed his wife and adult daughter before taking his own life. These reported circumstances reflect domestic violence homicide—a devastating form of violence whose impact reaches far beyond the home.

Just days ago, Center for Domestic Peace brought community members and partners together for a difficult and meaningful conversation about domestic violence homicide and prevention. Today, we are confronting the painful reality of this violence in our own community.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are reminded of the human lives at the heart of this work and the urgency of our shared commitment to prevention and safety. We grieve the loss of life and hold everyone affected in our hearts.

Our immediate focus is on compassion, support, and making sure people know help is available. At Center for Domestic Peace, we are here to listen, offer support, and help people navigate safety. If you are experiencing abuse or are concerned about someone you love, you do not have to navigate it alone.

Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
