Honoring Lives Lost. Celebrating Survivors.
Center for Domestic Peace (C4DP) will hold its annual Día de los Muertos ceremony and remembrance for those who have died as victims of domestic violence, and celebrate the strength, resilience, and healing of survivors. This HYBRID event is produced by Voces de Cambio (Voices of Change), a C4DP volunteer activist group of domestic violence survivors. It will occur as part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October). Join us in person in San Rafael, or online via Zoom – link to be provided.
All are welcome as compassionate witnesses, joining us in remembrance, healing, and solidarity.
Grounded in the vibrant traditions and deep-rooted values of our Latino community, this memorial will be a heartfelt tribute to those we’ve lost. Through traditional Ballet Folklorico dancing, soulful singing, and a lovingly crafted altar, we will honor their memory in a space filled with color, culture, and compassion. It also offers a time of healing, reflection and celebration for survivors and for our advocates who walk beside them every day.
This event invites participants from all walks of life to come together, share their stories, and take part in a collective celebration of life, love, and remembrance. Whether through music, spoken word, or quiet reflection, every voice will be welcomed and heard.
To ensure inclusivity and accessibility, the memorial will be conducted in both English and Spanish, embracing the diverse backgrounds of our attendees and fostering a sense of unity and belonging.
